Have Books, Will Travel

Hellooooo...I'm Armchairista (aka Marieke) and I'll be your tour guide around my reading brain for the next year. I've been an active member at Goodreads, a social reading site (if you don't know about it, check it out!), for a number of years now. I joined a challenge group for 2012 with the goal of reading 52 books from 52 different countries. A fellow member discovered this awesome traveling site where we could map our "travels" and so I, along with a number of others, have decided to adapt it to my literary travels. I've made two maps to accompany my blog posts. One map is for the 52 Challenge and the other is my own personal challenge of reading a book about or set in the capital cities of the world in alphabetical order. I'll be starting in Athens. Some of these books will overlap with one another.

I've never been a successful blogger, so please bear with me as I learn how to do things. I hope to make my blog here interesting. I will try not to give much away about the books, but I will let myself feel inspired as I read and I'll report accordingly with pictures (some of my own), music, food, etc...
